26 Seasons of a Popular Show Removed from Paramount+

Paramount+ recently made a surprising move, quietly removing all 26 seasons of the beloved show South Park from its streaming platform. While the company has yet to make a public announcement about this decision, they did respond to a consumer via email, explaining that they no longer have the rights to carry the show on Paramount+, prompting its removal.

The tension between the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Paramount Global seems to be at the heart of this decision. Paramount Global, in the midst of a merger with Skydance, has reportedly faced legal threats from the show’s creators due to contract negotiations concerning streaming services. Despite Paramount’s $900 million deal for the digital rights to the show still having 2 years left, the removal from Paramount+ has become a reality.

Season 27 of South Park is set to premiere on Comedy Central on July 23rd, 2025, but in the meantime, the show is still available for streaming on Max for those eager to revisit the series. While South Park may no longer be on Paramount+, 9 specials from the show are still accessible on the platform.
