Bluey: The Top Streaming Show for Kids

Here’s some good news: Kids’ shows are really popular with streaming audiences in the US this year. According to research firm Nielsen, Bluey, the preschool favorite, is still leading the pack as the most-watched title overall. It’s been a hit on Disney+ with over 25 billion minutes of watch time, putting it on course to match its performance from last year. Even in the face of a lot of adult-oriented content, SpongeBob SquarePants on Paramount+ is holding strong as the sixth most-streamed title overall in 2025 with 16.6 billion minutes.

And for streaming originals, adult titles are dominating the top 10, but Gabby’s Dollhouse on Netflix and Prime Video is the top kids show at number 13 with 6.01 billion minutes watched. Stranger Things on Netflix also made the top 20 with 5.4 billion minutes.

Kids’ animation ruled in the top 10 movies list, benefiting from repeat viewing by children. Moana 2 snagged the top spot with 7.2 billion minutes of watch time since it premiered on Disney+ on March 12. Following closely is Despicable Me 4 on Netflix with 6.3 billion minutes. The original Moana also made it to fourth place with 3.84 billion minutes. Other favorites like The Wild Robot, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Wicked, and Frozen also cracked the top 10.

Nielsen’s monthly TV usage report revealed a surge in streaming in June, partly thanks to kids on summer break. Streaming viewership accounted for 46% of total TV usage in the US, with a 5.4% increase in time spent on streaming compared to May. Netflix and Peacock saw significant upticks in viewership, with younger viewers driving much of the increase. In fact, total TV usage among six- to 17-year-olds rose by 27%, and Netflix and Peacock saw jumps of 32% and 37% in viewing from this group compared to May. It’s clear that kids’ content is a major draw for streaming audiences in the US right now.
