While broadcast and cable saw declines in overall viewing in June, there were bright spots, including the NBA Finals on ABC, boosting broadcast sports viewership by 17% compared to May. Cable news viewing went up by 12% due to a busy news cycle, and feature film viewing saw an upward trend.

Overall, broadcast and cable’s combined share of TV fell from 44.2% in May to 41.9% in June, with broadcast viewing down 5% and cable viewing remaining flat but losing 0.7 share points. Despite the dips, both cable and broadcast had standout programming that attracted viewers.
