A popular YouTuber, IShowSpeed, made a grand entrance in Finland, drawing a crowd of fans to downtown Helsinki. Also known as ‘Speed’, the 20-year-old star, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., boasts over 40 million subscribers on YouTube and a massive following on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

On Monday, chaos ensued as excited youths chased the SUV carrying the YouTuber into the Stockmann department store in downtown Helsinki. Fans eagerly offered Watkins Fazer chocolates as he live-streamed the exciting scene.

Watkins was later spotted at Senate Square, running up the steps of Helsinki Cathedral surrounded by his bodyguards. The crowd around him continued to swell, with fans chanting his name in excitement. While the police had anticipated hundreds of fans gathering at Helsinki Airport to welcome the internet sensation, no extra officers were dispatched.

The timing of Watkins’ arrival was kept under wraps until the last minute, a precaution to avoid overwhelming crowds. Newspaper Iltalehti was the first to confirm his presence in Finland, noting that Watkins declined interviews at the airport.

As Watkins embarks on a tour of various European countries, his plans for his time in Finland remain a mystery. However, he has mentioned that the Helsinki-based gaming giant Supercell extended an invitation for him to visit.

Starting his YouTube channel nearly a decade ago, Watkins’ bold and sometimes controversial videos have earned him a massive following. Despite the whirlwind of excitement, the details of his Finnish adventure continue to unfold.
