Stan Event Launches Future Vision Event in Melbourne Featuring Netflix, Apple TV+, and BBC
Future Vision, a global TV exchange event, kicked off this week at Melbourne’s ACMI with a launch event hosted by Aussie streamer Stan at restaurant Victoria by Farmer’s Daughters in Federation Square. Nine’s Managing Director of Streaming and Broadcast, Amanda Laing, led the event, which featured speakers like Richard Gadd from Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer,” Soo Hugh from Apple TV+’s “Pachinko,” and Sally Wainwright from BBC’s “Happy Valley.”
The event marks the beginning of a three-day conference that explores this year’s theme of ‘Optimism in the Face of Uncertainty.’ If you can’t make it in person, don’t worry – virtual tickets are available for a live stream of the event. Attendees will learn about what Australian TV programs are in demand and what international markets are seeking next.
The schedule for the conference includes keynotes from Richard Gadd, panels on passion projects with Richard Gadd, Soo Hugh, and Harriet Dyer, as well as spotlights on creators like Sally Wainwright. There will also be discussions on future voices and disruptors, adapting shows like “Pachinko,” and the importance of long-term collaborations in the industry.
