Paramount Plus Loses Major Show Ahead of Highly-Anticipated Sci-Fi Sequel Release

Paramount Plus just hit a bit of a snag for its international viewers – it lost the rights to stream South Park outside of the US. That means fans in the UK, Europe, and other regions won’t be able to watch their favorite show on the platform anymore. But don’t worry, negotiations are happening to hopefully bring it back soon, including the upcoming 27th season.

While this might be disappointing news, Paramount Plus still has some great content to offer. From Mobland to the new Dexter series, there’s a lot to enjoy on the platform. Plus, the highly anticipated new season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set to debut this week.

If you’re outside the States and looking for South Park, you might still find some specials through search, like the Post Covid editions. But for the 26 original seasons, you’ll have to head to Comedy Central for now.

The reason behind this change seems to be related to a merger with Skydance, which led Paramount Plus to let the international streaming rights expire. But fear not – talks are happening to hopefully bring back all seasons of South Park to the platform. And even if it doesn’t return to Paramount Plus, there’s a chance it could end up elsewhere.

So while change is afoot with South Park, there’s still plenty of great entertainment to enjoy on Paramount Plus. Stay tuned for updates and get ready to laugh your way through the newest season of South Park when it returns!
