Neighbours Prime Video Revival Wraps Filming with Opportunity for Future Chapter | Largs
Neighbours has officially wrapped up filming its two-year revival on Prime Video, leaving fans with hope for “a future chapter.” The Australian soap, which has been on TV for 40 years, finished filming at Nunawading studios, and producers are optimistic about the possibility of more episodes in the future.
Executive producer Jason Herbison expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to create recent seasons for loyal viewers worldwide, adding 460 episodes to the show’s legacy of over 9,000 episodes. “Neighbours is a special show, and it’s been a privilege to make the recent seasons for our loyal viewers around the world,” Herbison said. “Once again, we will be resting the residents of Ramsay Street on a hopeful note, with some tantalizing possibilities for a future chapter.”
The soap, which follows the lives of individuals in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough, has been a launchpad for stars like Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, and Margot Robbie. Stefan Dennis, who has played Paul Robinson since 1985, shared that Neighbours has been the source of the greatest adventures of his career and has shaped his life in unimaginable ways.
Neighbours faced a setback in 2022 when it was dropped by Channel 5 due to funding issues. However, the show made a triumphant return, only to face another obstacle when production company Fremantle Media failed to secure a deal with Amazon, leading to the decision to discontinue the soap. Despite these challenges, the legacy and impact of Neighbours remain undeniably significant in the world of TV entertainment.
