Larry David Returns to HBO with Obama-Produced Sketch Series
Larry David, the comedic genius behind “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” is making his grand return to HBO. And this time, he’s teaming up with none other than former President Barack Obama for a sketch comedy series that dives into American history. How’s that for a collaboration?
The premise of the show is as quirky and intriguing as you’d expect from Larry David. The Obamas were all set to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary with a special tribute to the nation’s unique history. But then, out of the blue, Larry David entered the picture, throwing a comedic wrench into their plans.
In a statement that perfectly captures the tone of the series, the former president shared, “I’ve sat across the table from some of the world’s most difficult leaders and wrestled with some of our most intractable problems. But nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David.” It’s safe to say that we’re in for a wild ride with this dynamic duo.
Joining forces with Jeff Schaffer, the writer and executive producer of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” David is set to write and executive produce this new series. Schaffer will also be taking on the director’s chair for the project. Alongside the Obamas, Vinnie Malhotra and Ethan Lewis from Higher Ground will also serve as executive producers on the show.
After wrapping up his time on “Curb,” Larry David ventured into a world of beekeeping, enjoying the simple life of harvesting organic honey. But when his bees mysteriously disappeared one day, he found himself drawn back into the world of television. It looks like we’re in for a hilarious and history-packed journey with Larry David leading the way.
