First Alert 6’s 7 a.m. Streaming Newscast

Good morning! Here’s a quick rundown of the latest headlines on this Thursday, July 10th.

We have a First Alert 6 Weather Day today in the Omaha area due to the potential for strong to severe storms. Senior Chief Meteorologist Rusty Lord predicts that storms developing after 7 p.m. will move from west to east through the evening, gaining intensity as they progress. The storms are expected to linger into the overnight hours and taper off early Friday morning.

Following the early Thursday storms, the Omaha Public Power District is dealing with power outages across the metro. As of 4 a.m. Wednesday, there were 239 customers in Douglas county and 154 customers in Sarpy without power. In total, over 1,000 OPPD customers in the First Alert 6 viewing area have been affected, including Johnson and Pawnee counties.
