Dale Earnhardt Jr. shares honest insight on NASCAR shift to TNT, unveiling displeasure with specific element
Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently shared his thoughts on NASCAR’s transition to TNT for broadcasting, and he didn’t hold back. The NASCAR coverage kicked off at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta, with Dale Jr. joining Steve Letarte and Adam Alexander on the broadcast team.
In 2024, Dale Jr. took a break from broadcasting, but he made a strong comeback with Prime Video, showcasing a new and improved production that fans loved.
Moving on to TNT, there are some similarities in the broadcast style, but also some differences. It’s like a blend of The CW Xfinity Series and Prime Video Cup Series broadcasts, creating a unique viewing experience.
On his show, the Dale Jr. Download, Earnhardt Jr. discussed the change and highlighted both the positives and some challenges he faced with the debut of NASCAR on TNT.
Comparing his experience with NBC, where they had 20 races to iron out kinks, Dale shared his insights: “And we’ve got five races here [at TNT] to get this right. So, pretty smart for [TNT] to bring in some of that experience that NBC has.”
The first race was a success, but Dale expects even more from the upcoming events, especially the Chicago race. The street race is anticipated to have a fantastic production, raising the bar for the team.
With TNT on board, NASCAR gains more credibility and appeal, especially among younger audiences who still watch cable TV. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is optimistic about the future, expecting significant improvements and a big leap forward in how they deliver the broadcasts.
With one race down and four more to go, the schedule looks promising with races from Atlanta to Chicago. It looks like an exciting journey ahead in the world of NASCAR broadcasting.
