Apple TV+ announces Jennifer Aniston dramedy

Apple TV+ just announced the upcoming dramedy series “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” starring and executive produced by Jennifer Aniston. The show is inspired by Jennette McCurdy’s best-selling memoir of the same name and will consist of 10 episodes.

The series is written, executive produced, and showrun by McCurdy and Ari Katcher. “I’m Glad My Mom Died” delves into McCurdy’s struggles as a former child actor, navigating her relationship with her overbearing mother. The story will focus on the codependent dynamic between an 18-year-old actress from a popular kids’ show and her self-absorbed mother, played by Aniston.

The show, produced by Apple Studios, features an impressive lineup of executive producers, including McCurdy, Katcher, Aniston, Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, Jerrod Carmichael, and Erica Kay.

Jennifer Aniston is widely known for starring in and executive producing Apple TV+’s acclaimed series “The Morning Show,” and this project marks another collaboration between Aniston and the streaming platform. McCurdy’s memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” released in August 2022, quickly became a New York Times Best Seller and remains on the list for over 80 weeks.

The highly anticipated “I’m Glad My Mom Died” series promises a mix of heartbreak and humor, making it a must-watch for those looking for engaging storytelling and powerful performances.
