Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Disney+ Series Casts Amy Sedaris

Rumors have been circulating for years about a Disney streaming series focused on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and now it’s official. Jon Favreau is bringing this beloved character to life in an exciting new project. He’s the mastermind behind the live-action remakes of “The Jungle Book” and “The Lion King,” as well as many Marvel and “Star Wars” projects. Favreau is a busy guy this year, also working on the upcoming film “The Mandalorian & Grogu.”

The main cast has been announced, with Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Ryder Allen taking the lead roles. And now, the talented Amy Sedaris has joined the cast too! She’s worked with Favreau before in “Chef” and voiced a character in the 2019 “The Lion King” remake.

Sedaris is rumored to play the mother of Allen’s character, Taylor. Taylor is a cautious middle school student who tries not to turn down his friends. Cabot-Conyers will be Jake, a hardworking middle school student with a big heart, while Harris will be Jen, an artistic middle schooler who is always ahead of the game.

Details about the plot are still under wraps, but we know it will be an animated/live-action hybrid centered on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Disney reacquired this character in 2006, and since then, Oswald has appeared in many Disney projects, from the parks to video games. In 2022, Disney released the first hand-drawn Oswald short in 95 years.
