FIU Scientists Shine in SharkFest 2025 by National Geographic
Florida International University (FIU) shark scientists are making waves as they take center stage in National Geographic’s SharkFest 2025. Led by Mike Heithaus, FIU’s executive dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education, vice provost of environmental resilience, and a professor of biological sciences, the team includes Yannis Papastamatiou, FIU’s associate professor of biological sciences and marine biologist, as well as Candace Fields, a Ph.D. candidate studying the population dynamics of large predators.
SharkFest 2025 premieres on July 5 at 8 p.m. on National Geographic, with streaming starting on July 6 on Disney+ and Hulu.
