Apple TV+ New Jennifer Aniston Show: Title & Plot Revealed
Jennifer Aniston, known for her roles in Friends and The Morning Show, is set to star in a new Apple TV+ series based on Jennette McCurdy’s memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died. The show has been given a 10-episode order, with Aniston portraying McCurdy’s “domineering mother.”
McCurdy, famous for her role as Sam Puckett in iCarly and Sam & Cat, wrote the memoir in 2022, detailing her experiences as a child actress and her difficult relationship with her mother, who passed away in 2013. The story also delves into her battles with addiction and eating disorders.
According to Variety, the Apple TV+ series will explore the “heartbreaking and hilarious” journey of McCurdy’s character, a former child actor coping with her controlling mother (played by Aniston). The show will focus on the codependent dynamic between an 18-year-old actress on a popular kids’ show and her self-absorbed mother who revels in her role as a “starlet’s mother.”
This project marks Aniston’s latest collaboration with Apple TV+, following her work on The Morning Show. McCurdy and Ari Katcher from Ramy are the writers, executive producers, and showrunners of the new series, with Aniston serving as an executive producer as well.
Aniston’s impressive filmography includes roles in Office Space, The Good Girl, Marley & Me, and more. Further details about I’m Glad My Mom Died are yet to be announced, so stay tuned for updates.
