Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Series Cast Revealed for Disney+

Jon Favreau has a new project in the works, and it’s looking quite animated! According to Deadline, the show has found its leading actors. Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Ryder Allen are set to take on the leading roles, and we now know who they’ll be playing.

Cabot-Conyers will portray Jake, a middle schooler known for his hardworking nature and big heart. Harris will play Jen, a middle schooler who is artistic and always one step ahead. Allen’s character, Taylor, is watchful and never lets his friends down.

Harris is best known for her work on HBO’s The Penguin series, while Cabot-Conyers and Harris have both worked with Disney in the past. Cabot-Conyers starred in the Disney+ series “Stars Wars: Skeleton Crew” and lent his voice to the character Antonio in the Oscar-winning animated musical film “Encanto.” Harris has appeared in various Disney projects, including ABC’s sitcom “Mixed-ish,” the Disney Channel series “Raven’s Home,” and the Disney+ film “Cheaper by the Dozen” reboot.

For those unfamiliar, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is a silly, self-absorbed bunny who was actually the first Disney character ever created way back in 1927. Originally, Oswald starred in 27 shorts before Universal acquired the rights to the character, which then led to the creation of Mickey Mouse, who went on to become the iconic mascot of the Walt Disney Company.

In an interesting turn of events, Oswald entered the public domain in 2023, paving the way for new adaptations like Jon Favreau’s upcoming series. The show will be a hybrid live-action/animated series and is expected to start filming soon. Stay tuned for more updates!
