DirecTV Upgrades Live TV Streaming Service
DirecTV has recently made some significant updates to its live TV streaming service by boosting its channel offerings. One of the main concerns with DirecTV was its high cost, but to attract more cord-cutting customers, they introduced Genre Packs in February. These packs provide a more focused selection of channels at a more affordable price point, often including subscriptions to streaming services.
Now, DirecTV has introduced a new Genre Pack called MyKids. For $19.99 a month, subscribers get access to 12 family-friendly channels, such as Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and Disney Channel. Additionally, they receive a free subscription to Disney Plus Basic, which typically costs $9.99 per month on its own.
For existing MyEntertainment Genre Pack subscribers, there’s good news too. DirecTV has added several new channels like BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, and others at no extra cost. MySports subscribers will also benefit from Paramount’s additions, gaining access to CBS Sports Network and local CBS stations.
In addition to these updates, DirecTV offers a total of five Genre Packs. These include MyKids, MyEntertainment, MiEspañol, MyNews, and MySports, each catering to different interests with varying channel lineups. Subscribers to these Genre Packs also get access to the DirecTV app, unlimited DVR recording, and MyFree DirecTV.
If you’re looking to streamline your channel selection and save money, DirecTV’s Genre Packs could be a reasonable option to consider. The added value and focused content make it a viable choice for those looking to cut the cord and transition to streaming services.
