Paramount+ Introduces New Feature to Premium Tier in Streaming Update
Paramount+ has shaken things up with a surprise change to its premium tier. The top-level subscription, previously known as Paramount+ with Showtime, will now go by the name Paramount Premium, dropping the Showtime branding.
According to Deadline, the name change was announced via the streaming app, citing the inclusion of Showtime programming in the lower-tier Essential plan as the reason for the rebrand. This shift aims to highlight the diverse range of content available across both tiers, with Showtime programs still being an integral part of Paramount+.
Despite the branding update, the cost remains unchanged. Subscribers can continue to enjoy Paramount Premium for $12.99 per month, while the Essential tier will stay at $7.99 per month.
It’s worth noting that Showtime had its own standalone streaming service until 2024, when it merged with Paramount+. This move is part of Paramount’s ongoing efforts to streamline and enhance its streaming offerings.
So, for all the fans of Paramount+ out there, rest assured that you’ll still have access to a wide variety of content, including Showtime programs, under the newly named Paramount Premium tier. No need to adjust your budget either, as the pricing remains the same. Keep streaming and enjoying your favorite shows!
