Kate Winslet leaves Hulu/A24 show, The Spot

Kate Winslet has made quite a mark in the world of TV after her success in “Mare Of Easttown,” which is still considered one of HBO’s best offerings. Her next show, “The Regime,” may not have received the same critical acclaim, but it sounded like a blast to film. However, Winslet has decided to step away from her upcoming project, “The Spot,” a series she was set to star in and executive produce for A24 and Hulu.

The series, created by Ed Solomon, revolves around a successful surgeon and her spouse, who suspect her involvement in a hit-and-run death of a child. Despite the initial excitement surrounding the project, Winslet cited creative differences as the reason for her departure. Now the production is on the lookout for another A-list actress to fill her shoes in time for the planned early 2026 filming start.

While Winslet’s exit from “The Spot” may come as a disappointment, she still has another TV project in the pipeline. She is set to star in a new HBO miniseries called “Trust” with Todd Haynes. Haynes, who experienced a similar situation when Joaquin Phoenix dropped out of a project last year, knows the challenges of last-minute changes. So, in the grand scheme of things, the setback on “The Spot” could be much worse.
