Pac-12 and Paramount Sign New TV Deal
The Pac-12 has some exciting news to share! They recently announced a new broadcast agreement with Paramount, the parent company of CBS, CBS Sports Network, and Paramount+. This partnership extends beyond the 2025 football season and will cover future events as well.
What does this mean for the fans? Well, CBS will be airing a minimum of 3 Pac-12 regular season football and men’s basketball games, the Pac-12 conference championship football game, and the Pac-12 men’s basketball tournament championship game. And the best part? You can stream all these games live on Paramount+.
But that’s not all! CBS Sports Network, the sister network of CBS, will also be airing a package of Pac-12 football and men’s basketball regular season games. The broadcast schedule for these games will be announced at a later date.
During a podcast appearance with former Pac-12 Network commentator Yogi Roth, conference commissioner Teresa Gould mentioned that Paramount will be an anchor for the Pac-12. This means that the Paramount family of networks will have first pick of the top Pac-12 games. It’s a different setup from the previous deal with Fox and ESPN, where each network rotated priority rights for football on a week-by-week basis.
Dan Weinberg, the Executive Vice President of Programming at CBS Sports, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership. He mentioned that CBS Sports will showcase the best of the conference’s football and men’s basketball games annually across their platforms, including the championship games for both sports.
There might be even more good news on the horizon, as it’s believed that the conference television deal could include up to four partners. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days. Additionally, the Pac-12 is on the lookout for an eighth full member, which is a requirement for NCAA D1 FBS postseason football. Keep an eye out for that announcement happening possibly this week. Exciting times ahead for Pac-12 fans!
