Mason Thames and Mel Gibson’s ‘Monster Summer’ to Premiere on Streaming Platform
“Monster Summer” is on its way to streaming platforms just in time for the summer season. The coming-of-age adventure film directed by David Henrie is all set to debut on Paramount+ with Showtime on July 1.
The movie stars Mason Thames, Mel Gibson, Kevin James, Lorraine Bracco, and Patrick Renna. Initially released theatrically last October by Pastime Pictures, the film arrives just in time for Halloween. “Monster Summer” follows a group of friends who team up with a retired police detective to save their island from an unknown presence.
Helmed by director David Henrie, the movie features a script by Cornelius Ulian and Bryan Schulz. The production team includes Mark Fasano, James Henrie, John Blanford, and Dan McDonough.
Lead actor Mason Thames, currently shining in theaters in the live-action remake “How to Train Your Dragon,” has an impressive upcoming slate of films. Mel Gibson, on the other hand, recently directed the thriller “Flight Risk” and is gearing up for “The Passion of the Christ” sequel.
In a recent interview with THR, Thames shared his excitement about future projects, aiming for roles in superhero films from DC or Marvel. According to the 17-year-old actor, superhero movies are right up his alley, and he’s eager for the opportunity to work on such projects. With a fantastic cast and talented production team, “Monster Summer” promises to be a must-watch as it hits streaming screens this summer.
