Maria Taylor named lead host for NBA & WNBA studio coverage on NBC
NBC’s coverage of the NBA and WNBA this fall will be led by sports broadcaster Maria Taylor, who will host studio shows on Sunday and Tuesday nights alongside analysts Carmelo Anthony and Vince Carter on NBC and Peacock. In addition to her NBA role, Taylor will also host select WNBA games on NBC and Peacock in 2026.
You may already recognize Maria Taylor as the lead host of Football Night in America since 2022. She has also hosted for the Tokyo, Beijing, and Paris Olympics, Big Ten College Countdown, Roland-Garros, and more. Taylor is no stranger to basketball, having prior experience hosting NBA Countdown playoffs and Finals coverage.
With a background as a former Division I volleyball and basketball player at the University of Georgia, Taylor’s basketball bona fides are strong. She has also hosted College Gameday, NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament coverage, and more. As she moves into her new role with the NBA on NBC, Taylor will no longer host Big Ten College Countdown.
Joining Taylor on NBC’s NBA broadcast team are analysts Jamal Crawford, Reggie Miller, Carmelo Anthony, and Vince Carter, along with play-by-play voices Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle. NBA legend Michael Jordan has also been announced as a special contributor.
NBC and the NBA have signed an 11-year agreement to present NBA and WNBA games across multiple platforms starting in the 2025-26 season. This includes exclusive national Monday night games on Peacock, regional doubleheaders on Tuesday nights, and the upcoming launch of Sunday Night Basketball in 2026.
As NBC gears up for an exciting NBA season, fans can look forward to engaging coverage led by Maria Taylor and a talented lineup of analysts and hosts. Stay tuned for more updates on the NBA on NBC as the season approaches!
