Sydney Sweeney’s Latest Film Ranks Top on Apple TV+ but Receives Low 47% on Rotten Tomatoes

Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore teamed up for Apple TV+’s highly anticipated movie, “Echo Valley,” but unfortunately, the film didn’t quite hit the mark. Despite a stellar cast that also included Kyle MacLachlan and Domhnall Gleeson, as well as a screenplay from Brad Ingelsby of “Mare of Easttown” fame, “Echo Valley” fell short of expectations.

The storyline follows Kate, played by Julianne Moore, a recently widowed woman struggling to support her daughter, Claire, through her drug addiction. When Claire finds herself in trouble with a drug dealer after misplacing a bag of illegal substances, the two women are forced to come up with $10,000 to set things right. As the plot unfolds, dark secrets and sacrifices are revealed, but the pacing of the film leaves much to be desired.

Critics, like Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian, gave “Echo Valley” a lukewarm reception, citing a convoluted narrative and lackluster execution. With a 51% rating from critics and 47% from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s clear that the film missed the mark for many. Despite some picturesque shots and a talented cast, “Echo Valley” ultimately fails to deliver the compelling crime drama it promised.

While the movie had all the makings of a great film, it seems that the pieces didn’t quite come together as expected. Fans of Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore may still appreciate their performances, but overall, “Echo Valley” may not be worth your time if you’re looking for a captivating crime thriller.
