June/July Squad Announcement Talking Points for Football Squad
Joe Montemurro has handpicked a strong 33-player CommBank Matildas squad for the upcoming FIFA Women’s International Window in June and July. This announcement marks an exciting new chapter for the team as they gear up for major events like the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ in Brazil, and the Los Angeles 2028™ Olympic Games.
Fans will be glad to see the return of key players like Mackenzie Arnold, Sharn Freier, and Hayley Raso, who are back after recovering from injuries. A familiar face, Ellie Carpenter, also rejoins the squad after taking some personal time off during Australia’s series against Argentina. Additionally, new players like Chloe Berryhill, Alex Chidiac, Emily Gielnik, Jessika Nash, and Remy Siemsen have received their first call-ups of the year.
Two standout newcomers, Grace Kuilamu and Adriana Taranto, have earned their first senior call-ups. Kuilamu, who recently captained the CommBank Young Matildas, and Taranto, who made a remarkable recovery from an ACL injury, are part of a group of uncapped players selected to broaden the team’s talent pool.
The CommBank Matildas are set to face off against Slovenia on June 26th at HBF Park in Perth, with the match broadcasted on Network 10, 10 Play, and Paramount+. It’s an exciting time for the team as they prepare for the challenges ahead and continue to showcase their talent on the international stage.
