Discovery and HBO MAX are bringing back the thrilling adventure series “Expedition Unknown” for its 15th season. Hosted by Josh Gates, this show follows an archaeologist traveling the world to uncover historical mysteries and find lost artifacts. For those into period dramas, Apple TV+ has just released season 2 of “The Buccaneers.” This series explores the story of young American women navigating 1870s London in search of husbands and titles. While there are some good moments in the show, Tony finds it to be a bit draggy and lethargic, giving it a C and rating it TV-14.
If you’re in the mood for a psychological thriller, check out “We Were Liars” on Prime. Adapted from a best-selling novel, this series follows a 17-year-old girl struggling to remember a traumatic accident from her past. Tony describes it as a top-notch young adult mystery thriller with plenty of twists. He rates it a B and mentions it’s not rated.
Lastly, HBO MAX offers “Duster,” an action-packed crime drama set in 1970’s Southwest. Following the life of a daring getaway driver involved with a crime syndicate, this series is full of excitement and nostalgia for classic 70s TV shows like The Rockford Files and Starsky & Hutch. Tony gives it an A rating and states it’s suitable for TV-MA audiences.
