Unveiling the Secret of the ‘Slow Horses’ Release Strategy

Have you ever noticed how long you have to wait between seasons of your favorite shows? Bridgerton, Severance, and even Stranger Things seem to take ages to release new episodes. Speaking of Stranger Things, did you know it’s been almost ten years since the show started and we’re only on season five? It’s crazy to think about how much time has passed—remember Erica Sinclair? She just graduated from high school!

But then there’s this show called Slow Horses. Have you heard about it? It’s this spy drama on Apple TV+ that started in 2022, and they’re already about to premiere their fifth season in September. That’s five seasons in just over three years! And get this, they’ve already filmed season six and are starting on season seven this fall. Yeah, I can’t wrap my head around it either.

With a cast that includes Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, Sophie Okonedo, and Hugo Weaving, you’d think it would take forever to film new seasons. But somehow, they manage to release a season every seven months or so. Do they have a time machine? Does the creator, Will Smith (not the actor/rapper), ever sleep? What’s their secret sauce?

I’m honestly in awe of how fast they churn out these seasons. I wish other shows would take a page from their book because I’m tired of waiting years between seasons. Slow Horses fans are lucky—they never have to scramble to remember what happened in the previous season before the new one drops.

Mark your calendars for September 24th—that’s when season five of Slow Horses premieres on Apple TV+. Enjoy the binge!
