Netflix Titanic OceanGate Documentary Scene Disturbs Viewers
Netflix’s latest documentary, “Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster,” has captured the attention of viewers worldwide. The film delves into the tragic events that led to the implosion of the Titan submersible in June 2023, resulting in the loss of five lives. The focus of the documentary is on OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush and the concerns surrounding the safety of the vessel.
One key scene in the documentary shows Rush dismissing safety concerns, telling passengers, “if you hear an alarm, don’t worry about it.” This particular moment left viewers feeling disturbed and unsettled. The documentary also sheds light on Rush’s decision to proceed with the expedition without third-party classification, as well as former marine operations director David Lochridge’s apprehensions about the carbon fibre hull of the Titan.
Tragically, the Titan experienced a “catastrophic explosion” during its expedition to view the Titanic wreck, resulting in the deaths of Shahzada Dawood, Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, and Stockton Rush.
The documentary has quickly become one of Netflix’s most-streamed titles, drawing attention to the importance of safety and caution in such high-risk expeditions. The chilling comment made by OceanGate’s CEO has left many viewers reflecting on the consequences of negligence and lack of proper safety measures in such endeavors.
