They’ve just announced that the Blumhouse film, The Woman in the Yard, starring Danielle Deadwyler, will be hitting the streamer on June 27. Get ready for a story that dives into the aftermath of a truly “otherworldly” encounter when a mysterious woman shows up in a family’s yard.
The official synopsis sets the scene: “Already grappling with the loss of her husband, Ramona (played by Deadwyler) finds herself facing a new kind of fear as this enigmatic figure appears outside her farmhouse.” As the woman gets closer and closer, Ramona must do everything she can to shield her children from the eerie presence of this haunting entity, whose intentions remain shrouded in mystery and far from peaceful.
Alongside Danielle Deadwyler, the film features performances by Okwui Okpokwasili, Peyton Jackson, and Russell Hornsby. Fans may also recognize Deadwyler from her recent role in Netflix’s The Piano Lesson.
