Jaume Collet-Serra’s ‘The Woman in the Yard’ Streaming on Peacock This Month

Jaume Collet-Serra’s supernatural horror film, “The Woman in the Yard,” is set to make its streaming debut on Peacock on June 27. Directed by Collet-Serra, known for his work on “Orphan” and “The Shallows,” and written by Sam Stefanak, this film has been highly anticipated by horror fans. The cast includes Danielle Deadwyler, Okwui Okpokwasili, Peyton Jackson, Estella Kahiha, and Russell Hornsby.

The story revolves around a grieving widow named Ramona, who is already facing the loss of her husband when a mysterious, otherworldly woman appears outside her farmhouse. As the woman draws closer and closer, Ramona must protect her children from this haunting figure, whose intentions remain unknown and far from peaceful.

Collet-Serra and Deadwyler previously collaborated on “Carry-On,” and their partnership continues in this chilling tale. Critics have described the film as a high-concept psychological horror that delves into themes of grief and fear.

While some reviews have noted that the film lacks tension and scare factor, fans of supernatural horror will likely find “The Woman in the Yard” to be a captivating and eerie addition to the genre. Keep an eye out for its digital release on Peacock this month, with physical media release expected in May.
