South Park Fans Petition to Save Banned Episodes from Streaming Ban

South Park fans are gearing up for a big change this Summer as the show moves to Paramount+ after leaving HBO Max at the end of June. This means fans will have all their favorite South Park episodes in one spot, including specials, for the first time in ages. However, there’s a bit of a hiccup in the transition—rumors are swirling that nearly 20 episodes will be banned on Paramount+.

The banned episodes are mostly ones that were unavailable on international versions of the streaming platform, like in the UK. Fans are rallying to stop these episodes from being removed on Paramount+. Some examples of banned episodes include “Big Gay Al’s Boat Ride,” “Super Best Friends,” and “Trapped In The Closet.”

In a Change.org petition addressed to Paramount CEO Bob Bakish, fans are pleading to keep all 17 episodes available, calling the potential ban a short-sighted move. As of now, there are almost 1,000 signatures supporting the cause.

While the fate of these episodes on Paramount+ remains uncertain, rest assured you can still catch them on HBO Max. Additionally, keep an eye out for the newest season of South Park, which is set to premiere on Comedy Central on July 9th.

With South Park’s future on streaming platforms in flux, fans are understandably anxious about the transition. After previous bans on the show, getting a hold of banned episodes can be tough without physical copies. As the situation unfolds, fans will have to wait and see whether their favorite episodes will be available for streaming on Paramount+.
