Increased Advertising on Prime Video platform: What to Expect
If you’ve noticed more ads popping up on Prime Video recently, you’re not alone. According to an email shared with Adweek, Amazon has upped its ad load to four to six minutes per hour, double what it was when ads were first introduced in January 2024.
The increase in ads was revealed by Kelly Day, the Vice President of Prime Video International, who explained that the streaming service initially started with a lighter ad load to gently introduce viewers to advertising.
So, the next time you settle in for a binge-watching session, be prepared for a few more interruptions. Amazon is doubling down on ads on Prime Video, giving you more content to enjoy and more ads to watch.
