HBO Max to Expand Streaming Service to 12 Eastern European Countries in July

HBO Max is taking its streaming service on a journey to 12 Eastern European countries this July in an exciting announcement from Warner Bros. Discovery. The highlighted countries that will be part of this expansion include Albania, Armenia, Cyprus, Estonia, Georgia, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, and Tajikistan.

This initiative marks a great stride in HBO Max’s global presence, now reaching a total of 100 countries around the world. In these new regions, viewers can look forward to accessing sports content, including major events like the Australian Open, Roland-Garros, Wimbledon, US Open, along with cycling’s Grand Tours like Giro d’Italia, La Vuelta a España, Tour de France, and Tour de France Femmes.

JB Perrette, CEO of Global Streaming & Games at Warner Bros. Discovery, expressed his enthusiasm for this expansion, sharing that the introduction of HBO Max to these countries will be followed by more markets later this year and launches in Germany, Italy, and the U.K. in the coming year, positioning HBO Max as a global entertainment destination.

The progress doesn’t stop there, with HBO Max already having launched in Australia and Türkiye earlier in 2025, and more exciting launches planned for the rest of the year and 2026. Warner Bros. Discovery boasted a significant increase in streaming subscribers, reaching 122.3 million by the end of the first quarter of 2025, evidencing strong momentum for HBO Max’s growth globally. Exciting things are on the horizon, with HBO Max shaping up to be a worldwide entertainment hub that viewers around the globe can enjoy.
