Paramount+ Made a Stupid Decision Ending Evil Series: Robert King

Robert and Michelle King, the brilliant minds behind the hit series “Evil,” were disappointed when Paramount+ decided to end the show after four seasons. The duo has a long history of creating successful TV shows, starting with their work on ABC’s “In Justice” and branching out into “The Good Wife” universe with “The Good Fight” and now “Elsbeth” on Paramount+. Despite its success, “Evil” still had more stories to tell, according to the Kings.

Robert King expressed frustration over the cancellation, calling it “stupid” and questioning the new streaming model that led to the show’s demise. Despite being a popular title on Netflix, Paramount+ chose not to continue the series, much to the disappointment of fans.

The supernatural thriller starred Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, and Aasif Mandvi as a team of paranormal investigators for the Catholic Church. It premiered on CBS in 2019 before moving exclusively to Paramount+ until its end in 2024. The Kings felt that the show’s unique visual style and talented cast deserved more recognition.

While discussing their other projects like “Elsbeth,” “Happy Face,” and “Your Honor,” the Kings shared their passion for storytelling and their hopes for the future. It’s clear that “Evil” held a special place in their hearts, and they believe there were still many stories left to explore in the series.
