Prime Video’s upcoming series, Butterfly, is set to premiere on August 13, 2025, and we’ve got a first look at this exciting spy-thriller. The show, based on BOOM! Studios’ graphic novel series by Arash Amel, features Daniel Dae Kim in the lead role, alongside a talented cast including Reina Hardesty, Piper Perabo, and Louis Landau.
Daniel Dae Kim, known for his roles in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Lost, is not only starring in Butterfly but is also serving as an executive producer. The series follows the story of David Jung, a former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, as he navigates the dangerous world of global espionage. Facing off against a sociopathic young agent played by Hardesty and a sinister spy organization, Jung finds himself entangled in a web of intrigue and danger.
With a strong creative team behind the camera, including showrunner Ken Woodruff and co-creator Steph Cha, Butterfly promises to blend American and Korean storytelling in a captivating way.
