Peacock Comedy with High Rotten Tomatoes Score Axed After 1 Season on IMDb

Peacock’s romantic comedy series, “Laid,” won’t be returning for a second season. Despite its impressive 93% Rotten Tomatoes score and positive reviews from critics, the show has been canceled by the NBCUniversal streaming platform after its first season. The series premiered on Dec. 19, with all eight episodes available at once.

Created by Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna, “Laid” didn’t quite hit the mark in terms of viewership. While it received high praise, it didn’t make it onto Nielsen’s top 10 list and didn’t generate significant buzz on social media. It remains uncertain whether the show will be picked up by another streaming platform for a potential revival.

The series was based on an Australian TV show of the same name and had a lot going for it, including a strong cast and critical acclaim. Unfortunately, its time on Peacock has come to an end after just one season. Stay tuned for any updates on the future of “Laid.”
