HBO Max Reveals New DC Superhero Releases in June 2025
In June 2025, HBO Max is set to add eight exciting DC projects to its already impressive streaming library. Many of these upcoming releases will feature or focus on the Superman character. The streaming service recently switched back to its original name from Max in 2023 and has a reputation for offering a wide range of DC content, including movies from the DCEU and popular shows like Batman: The Animated Series. The addition of these DC projects coincides with the upcoming release of James Gunn’s Superman film on July 11, 2025, which explains why most of the new additions heavily involve the iconic Man of Steel character.
One of the projects coming to HBO Max in June 2025 is “Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons,” an animated film from 2022 that centers around Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, Jon Kent, and Damian Wayne. The movie explores the dynamic between Superman, Batman, and their sons as they come together to combat a common threat. Fans can catch “Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons” on HBO Max starting June 1, 2025.
Another exciting addition is “Reign of the Supermen,” a 2019 animated film that serves as a direct sequel to “The Death of Superman.” In this installment, multiple Supermen emerge in Metropolis, leading to a confrontation between the various pretend Man of Steel figures. “Reign of the Supermen” will also premiere on HBO Max on June 1, 2025.
“Superman: Man of Tomorrow,” a 2020 animated film that chronicles the early days of Superman, will also join the lineup on June 1, 2025. Fans will follow Superman’s journey as he transitions into his role as the hero of Metropolis, earning the iconic name along the way.
For those looking for a unique take on Superman, “Superman: Red Son” is another animated film to watch out for in June. The 2020 movie presents an alternate reality where Superman lands in Ukraine instead of Kansas, setting the stage for a different course of events. Fans can enjoy this intriguing storyline when “Superman: Red Son” arrives on HBO Max on June 1, 2025.
“Superman: Unbound,” based on Geoff Johns’ comic book story arc “Superman: Brainiac,” is another thrilling addition to the HBO Max lineup in June. Released in 2013, the film sees Superman facing off against the formidable Braniac. Fans can catch “Superman: Unbound” on the streaming platform starting June 1, 2025.
“Superman/Batman: Public Enemies,” an animated film from 2009 that boasts a star-studded voice cast, will also be available on HBO Max beginning June 1, 2025. This fan-favorite movie finds Superman and Batman teaming up to take on a dangerous threat in the form of Lex Luthor, who has become the President of the United States in a time of economic turmoil.
Additionally, “The Death of Superman,” a 2018 release that sets the stage for “Reign of the Supermen,” will be making its way to HBO Max on June 1, 2025. Fans can witness the epic battle between Superman and Doomsday, culminating in a dramatic showdown and the hero’s ultimate sacrifice.
Finally, the second part of “Teen Titans Go! Season 9” will premiere on HBO Max on June 20, 2025. Fans of the popular animated series can look forward to more exciting adventures with the Teen Titans as they navigate the challenges of being young superheroes.
