Cartoon Network Series Given Boost as HBO Max Reduces Content

Consumers of streaming entertainment, rejoice! While some Cartoon Network series have bid farewell to HBO Max, several fan-favorite shows have been granted an extended stay. Say hello to Samurai Jack, Home Movies, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Robot Chicken, as they have received license extensions that keep them on the platform for the near future. But not all series were fortunate enough to receive the same treatment, with Tom And Jerry, The Smurfs, and other beloved cartoons not making the cut.

Home Movies and Robot Chicken, in particular, have been given ample time until May 2026, while Samurai Jack and Aqua Teen Hunger Force received a shorter timeline, expiring in June. This signals the importance of catching up on these series before they potentially face expulsion from the streaming platform.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the fate of these animated series on HBO Max, there is hope that they may find new homes on other streaming platforms in the future, given the history of Warner Bros’ content migrating across digital spaces. So, for those nostalgic for Bubbles, Blossom, Buttercup, or any of the other animated stars from Cartoon Network, there may still be a path to catching them in action down the line.

In the meantime, keep an eye on the ever-evolving landscape of streaming entertainment to stay up to date on where your favorite series might land next.
