But as 2024 drew to a close, Paramount+ introduced a tiered subscription model similar to what Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ offer. The basic plan, which includes ads, costs just £4.99 per month. If you want to go ad-free, you can upgrade to the Standard plan for £7.99 per month or the Premium 4K UHD plan for £10.99 per month.

When Paramount+ made this change at the beginning of 2025, Sky’s free subscription was downgraded to the basic plan, with ads. However, as of May 2025, Sky has introduced an upgrade path for Sky Cinema customers. This means that you can now upgrade to the Standard or Premium Paramount+ plans at discounted prices. By doing this, you can save £4.99 per month compared to a standalone Paramount+ subscription.

Is Paramount+ worth it? Absolutely! You’ll get access to awesome shows like Yellowstone, Yellowjackets, and Dexter New Blood, along with exclusive original content. Plus, there are plenty of movies to choose from, including Gladiator II and Mission: Impossible Fallout. If you find the ads annoying, you can upgrade to the Standard plan for just £3 extra per month and enjoy uninterrupted streaming.

While Paramount+ isn’t bundled with other pay TV services, you can also access it through Virgin TV 360 and Virgin Stream boxes, as well as the BT/EE TV Box Pro.
