The Omaha Fire Department responded to a fire in an apartment building near Pacific Street and Park Avenue early this morning. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but four people have been displaced as a result of the fire.
In other news, footage from the body camera of a deputy involved in a fatal shooting last week in Omaha has been released. The incident occurred near 48th and Pratt, where 19-year-old Janidi Ibrahim lost his life. The footage revealed that Ibrahim, who was standing outside a vehicle, pointed a tactical light at Sergeant Jessie Ronk. The tactical light was later found in the vehicle’s cupholder, attached to a stolen, loaded, semiautomatic handgun.
