Disney+ Secures Rights to UEFA Women’s Champions League in Europe

Disney+ has just scored a major win by securing the rights to the UEFA Women’s Champions League in Europe starting next season. This exciting news means that viewers across Europe can catch all the action for the next five years, from 2025/26 to 2029/30.

Previously, DAZN had been the go-to platform for European viewers to watch the Women’s Champions League, with TNT Sports stepping in to broadcast some matches in the UK. But now, Disney+ is stepping up to the plate, expanding its sports coverage to include women’s football.

With this deal, Disney+ will be live streaming all 75 matches of the UEFA Women’s Champions League competition, from the League phase right up to the 2026 Final at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo. ESPN, Disney’s sports brand, will produce all the live matches with commentary in multiple languages, as well as pre- and post-game programming to enhance the viewing experience.

This move is part of Disney’s broader strategy to bring more live sports content to its platform. In addition to the Women’s Champions League, Disney+ has also started showing the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League in Denmark and Sweden.

As of March 2025, Disney+ boasted a whopping 125 million subscribers worldwide. Karl Holmes, General Manager of Disney+ EMEA, expressed the company’s excitement about bringing the UEFA Women’s Champions League to its audiences, emphasizing their dedication to providing diverse and engaging content.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, Co-Managing Director of UC3, highlighted the significant growth and global interest in the Women’s Champions League in recent years, underscoring the importance of these new broadcast deals in the continued development of women’s football in Europe.
