CoComelon Series Moves to Disney+ Post-Netflix
CoComelon, the beloved kids’ program, is making a big move from Netflix to Disney+ in 2027. The decision came after Netflix chose not to renew the show due to lower viewership numbers, according to Variety.
Originally gaining fame for its 3D nursery rhymes and songs, CoComelon has a massive following on YouTube, boasting over 190 million subscribers and around 200 billion views on its videos.
Despite releasing four new seasons (seasons 9 to 12), CoComelon struggled to maintain its audience, as reported by Nielsen. The show dropped out of the top 10 on the Streaming Acquired chart in 2024, a significant decline from its previous ranking at number 5 in 2023. In contrast, Bluey, available on Disney+, claimed the top spot with 55.62 billion views.
While CoComelon bids farewell to Netflix, other shows from Moonbug Entertainment, like CoComelon Lane and Blippi, will continue to be available on the platform. CoComelon Lane even outperformed the original CoComelon in 2024, garnering over 50 million views.
As CoComelon exits, Netflix is welcoming Sesame Street to its lineup this year. The iconic children’s series will be moving from HBO to the streaming platform.
