Clerkenwell Films Begins Production on Comedy Series “Alice & Steve” for Disney+
Disney+ and Clerkenwell Films have teamed up to bring us a new UK comedy series called Alice & Steve. The show, which has just been given the green light, is set to have six episodes and is written and executive produced by Sophie Goodhart, known for her work on Sex Education. Tom Kingsley, from Stath Lets Flats, is set to direct.
The series stars Nicola Walker from The Split and Jemaine Clement from What We Do in the Shadows as the main characters, Alice and Steve. The plot centers around their lifelong friendship being put to the test when Steve starts dating Alice’s 26-year-old daughter, Izzy.
Lee Mason, Disney+’s executive director of scripted content, has described the show as a “twisted and hilarious” story. He promises viewers a mix of betrayal and revenge with beautifully messy and flawed characters brought to life by Sophie Goodhart. Petra Fried, joint MD of Clerkenwell Films, is excited to explore the lives of Alice and Steve as they navigate this modern comedy of errors. She highlights the unique and talented performances of Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement as the lead characters.
The series is already in production, so stay tuned for more updates on Alice & Steve coming soon!
