Apple TV+ announces new cast member for ‘The Buccaneers’ season 2, premiering next month

Apple has just released the first trailer for the upcoming season of The Buccaneers, a drama series based on Edith Wharton’s unpublished book of the same name. The teaser, set to Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe,” introduces a new character portrayed by a former Gossip Girl cast member.

Season 2 of The Buccaneers picks up right where Season 1 left off, bringing back the familiar faces of the main cast and welcoming Leighton Meester to the mix, although her character remains under wraps for now.

In the trailer, just like in the first season, The Buccaneers blends classical settings with modern music and dialogue, offering a unique tone reminiscent of Apple TV+’s Dickinson. The show is gearing up to be a refreshing departure from traditional period dramas like Downton Abbey.

Returning for Season 2 are actors Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, Imogen Waterhouse, and Mia Threapleton, promising an exciting continuation of the story.

The much-anticipated new season of The Buccaneers will premiere exclusively on Apple TV+ on June 18, with new episodes airing weekly until August 6. If you need to catch up or simply want to revisit Season 1, all eight episodes are currently available for streaming.

You can subscribe to Apple TV+ for $9.99 per month, gaining access to a wide array of popular TV shows and movies, including Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking, and Silo. It’s an affordable way to stay entertained and up-to-date with the best of Apple’s original content.
