Platonic Season 2 Premieres in August on Apple TV+
“Platonic” Season 2 is set to premiere on Apple TV+ this summer, bringing back the hilarious antics of Seth Rogen’s Will and Rose Byrne’s Sylvia. The show will debut on Wednesday, August 6, with the first two episodes of the ten-episode season airing on that day. Subsequent episodes will be released every Wednesday until October 1.
In a teaser for the new season, Will and Sylvia find themselves in a funny mishap involving a golf cart and a group of golfers. Even though they’re both beginners, Will takes a swing that accidentally hits their friend in the eye, setting off a chain reaction of events.
This premiere comes just over two years after the first season of “Platonic” aired in May 2023. The show follows Will and Sylvia, former best friends navigating midlife, as they reconnect and rediscover their friendship in a hilarious and sometimes chaotic way.
Season 2 will see Rogen and Byrne reprising their roles, with Luke Macfarlane returning as Sylvia’s husband, Charlie, and Carla Gallo back as Sylvia’s friend, Katie. Additionally, guest stars Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Beck Bennett will make appearances in the new season.
Created, directed, and co-written by Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, “Platonic” is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with an overall deal with Stoller’s Global Solutions. The show is executive produced by Byrne, Stoller, Delbanco, Conor Welch, as well as Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver for Point Grey Pictures.
Fans of Rogen and Byrne can look forward to more hilarious moments and heartwarming friendship dynamics in the upcoming season of “Platonic” on Apple TV+.
