Disney+ has just announced the premiere date for the highly anticipated series, Alien: Earth. If you’re a fan of the original 1979 film Alien, get ready for this exciting prequel that is set to launch on the streaming platform this summer. Directed by Ridley Scott, who also brought us Gladiator and the rest of the Alien franchise, Alien: Earth is sure to be a thrilling adventure.

Developed by Noah Hawley, the mastermind behind Fargo, and with Ridley Scott as an executive producer, Alien: Earth takes us back two years before the events of the first film. The series will kick off with its first two episodes on Wednesday, August 13, and then continue to release new episodes every Wednesday until its grand finale on Wednesday, September 24.

Leading the cast of Alien: Earth is Sydney Chandler from Don’t Worry Darling, who will be playing the role of Wendy, a hybrid prototype that combines a humanoid robot with human consciousness. Alongside Sydney, we can expect to see a star-studded ensemble featuring actors like Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Adrian Edmonson, Essie Davis, and Lily Newmark.

In addition to giving us a glimpse of the cast, Disney+ has also shared some exciting teaser photos from the show, as well as an official synopsis that provides insight into the storyline. Set in the year 2120, on a planet governed by five corporations, the series promises to deliver a unique blend of technology, mystery, and of course, terrifying extraterrestrial encounters.
