Jack Quaid’s action-thriller “Novocaine” is now available for streaming on Paramount+, following a successful run in theaters and positive reviews from critics.
The movie, which has earned an 81% critic score and an 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, was directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen with a script by Lars Jacobson.
In the film, Quaid stars as Nathan Caine, a bank employee with a unique medical condition that prevents him from feeling pain. When his colleague and love interest Sherry (played by Amber Midthunder) is kidnapped during a bank robbery, Caine sets out on a daring mission to rescue her, despite his inability to experience pain. The cast also features Ray Nicholson, Jacob Batalon, and Matt Walsh.
After its release on March 14, “Novocaine” dominated the box office, raking in $8.8 million during its opening weekend. While the movie didn’t break records in terms of earnings, it did become one of the lowest-grossing films to reach number one at the box office after 2020, ultimately making $34.2 million worldwide against an $18 million budget.
To celebrate the film’s availability on Paramount+, Jack Quaid shared some exclusive behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, describing “Novocaine” as “a brutally fun ride” and inviting fans to check it out.
Not only is Quaid gaining attention for his role in “Novocaine,” but he is also making waves with his sci-fi film “Companion,” which boasts a 93% critic score and is a hit on Max. Additionally, fans can catch Quaid in “Neighborhood Watch,” available digitally, where he stars alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Malin Akerman.
With “Novocaine” becoming another feather in Jack Quaid’s cap of well-received performances, it’s clear that he is establishing himself as a sought-after action and thriller actor in 2025.
