PVR files 60 crore lawsuit against Maddock Films for canceling Bhool Chuk Maaf theatrical release

After Maddock Films decided to shift the release of Bhool Chuk Maaf from theaters to an OTT platform, it’s reported that PVR is taking legal action against them. The movie features Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi in lead roles, and the sudden change in plans has led PVR to file a lawsuit seeking Rs 60 crore for the movie’s non-playability.

PVR CEO Kamal Gianchandani mentioned that this unexpected decision has caused significant financial losses for the company. According to trade expert Komal Nahta, Maddock Films canceled the theatrical release due to poor advance bookings.

On May 8, Maddock Films released a statement citing the ongoing security situations across the country as the reason for the shift to OTT. Dinesh Vijan, the man behind the Stree franchise, produced the film directed by Karan Sharma. The star-studded cast also includes Sanjay Mishra, Seema Pahwa, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav, and Ishtiyak Khan.

Fans can now catch Bhool Chuk Maaf on Prime Video starting May 16. Stay tuned for more updates from the world of cinema by following Screen Digital on YouTube. Jai Hind!
