“Sly Lives: The Burden of Black Genius – Documentary NYC”
Mark your calendars for a special online screening event featuring “SLY LIVES! (aka The Burden of Black Genius)” as part of the 2025 Spring Showcase. This captivating documentary takes a deep dive into the life and legacy of Sly & The Family Stone, the iconic band fronted by the charismatic and mysterious Sly Stone.

Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, the Director and Executive Producer of the film, along with Joseph Patel, the Producer. The discussion will be moderated by Karen McMullen from DOC NYC.
