Amy Poehler stars in Peacock comedy “Dig” from “Parks and Rec” co-creator
Amy Poehler and Mike Schur, the co-creator of Parks & Recreation, are teaming up once again for a new comedy series called Dig on Peacock. The show follows four women at an archaeological dig site in Greece, each at different stages of their lives. When they unearth a long-buried secret, they find themselves caught up in a massive conspiracy.
Both Poehler and Schur will co-write the pilot and serve as executive producers, with J.J. Philbin also credited as a writer and executive producer. Poehler will star in the series, but no additional casting information has been announced yet.
This marks Poehler’s first live-action series role since Parks and Recreation, which aired on NBC from 2009 to 2015. Since then, she has been involved in various projects including voice work in Pixar’s Inside Out movies, Sisters, and Duncanville.
The official logline for Dig reads, “Four women working at an archaeological dig in Greece are at wildly different crossroads in their lives. When the team uncovers a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, they find themselves at the center of a high-stakes international conspiracy.”
