UTSA Professor Accused of Streaming Child Porn on TV During FBI Arrest

A professor from the University of Texas at San Antonio is facing serious charges after being accused of streaming child pornography. Zaid Mashhour Haddad, who describes himself as a “social-justice advocate,” was caught with over 180 videos of child pornography on his computer, which he streamed to a TV in his bedroom. Shockingly, one of these disturbing videos was playing on his TV when the FBI raided his home, according to prosecutors.

Investigations revealed that Haddad accessed these videos through links on the encrypted messaging app Telegram, where he stored the illegal material on his phone. The FBI also found evidence that Haddad participated in virtual Zoom meetings where child pornography was live-streamed.

Haddad, who was arrested recently, is facing one count of possession of child pornography and another count of knowingly accessing material that contained child pornography. Before his arrest, he worked as an assistant professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio, specializing in interdisciplinary studies and curriculum instruction. His biography on the university’s website highlights his expertise as a “teacher educator and social justice advocate.”

If convicted, Haddad could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison. The university has not yet commented on the situation. This case demonstrates the importance of being vigilant against harmful online activities and ensuring the safety of children in our communities.
