Sam Elliott Cast as Series Regular in Landman Season 2

Landman is stepping it up for season two with some exciting new additions. Paramount+ has officially announced that Sam Elliott will be joining the cast as a series regular, reuniting with Taylor Sheridan after their work together on 1883.

Elliott brings a wealth of experience to the table, with roles in iconic films like A Star Is Born, The Big Lebowski, and Tombstone, not to mention his Critics Choice-winning performance on Justified.

The already stellar cast of Landman includes Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, and Andy Garcia, all industry veterans with Oscar nominations or wins under their belts. Season two will see Elliott joining this talented lineup, alongside Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.

Filming for season two is currently underway in Texas. The series, co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, is based on the Boomtown podcast from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly.

Landman delves into the oil boom in West Texas, exploring the tensions between roughnecks and billionaires driving a resource-fueled economy. The show examines how the industry influences politics, economics, and the environment.

The first season of Landman was a massive success, breaking records on Paramount+. It had the most-watched global premiere and finale in the platform’s history, was ranked as the number one original series, attracted 35 million viewers for the premiere episode, and made it to the top 10 SVOD original series in Q4. Billy Bob Thornton received a Golden Globe nomination for his role as Tommy Norris in the series.

Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ lineup is expanding rapidly, with Landman joining other projects like 1883, 1923, Tulsa King, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves.

Season one of Landman is currently available for streaming exclusively on Paramount+. Season two is set to premiere in 2025.
